Zoe has come a long way from the common world she grew up in. She grew up in a small town admiring her older brother, Zack, who was the leader of the local gang. That position often got him into trouble and Zoe would usually have to wait for him after school. Zack's best friend Charles would usually wait with her. Zoe and Charles were close and eventually they became a couple. Zoe picked up her smoking habit through Charles. Although not a chain smoker, she has difficulty quitting and often smokes when she is nervous or bored. When her brother discovered they were dating, he immediately beat Charles up.
Shortly after that, both Charles and Zoe were
somehow transported to another world, one ruled by dragons. In a hostile environment, Charles died while trying to protect her from some thugs. A silver dragon took Zoe in and taught her the ways of the Dragoon to protect herself. When Zoe was 17, the dragon sent her to assist in the search of a missing dragon. Not long in the search, she and her companion found a girl imprisoned. They helped rescue her and escaped on board a small airship. The ship belonged to a pirate named Clover and for exchange for passage on board her ship, she requested they serve on board.
During one of their excursions, her companion died.
When this happened, Zoe took it upon herself to take care of the
girl she rescued, Pandora. After a few more missions and not liking
the makeup of the crew (felt the crew's inability to take and follow
orders would lead to trouble), Zoe tells off the captain, Clover,
and leaves the ship along with Pandora at the next port.
Conspiracies prevail and Clover betrays Zoe. As she attempts to
leave, Clover's crew ambushes her and they take Pandora back.
Furious, Zoe lashes out at the pirate however she is quickly
overcome by Clover's crew. About to execute her, Clover is convinced
to instead abandon her on a remote island instead. Stripped of all
her gear and possessions, Zoe is left alone fend for herself.
Consequently, Clover's ship never reaches the next
port. A mutiny breaks out on her ship and it is
destroyed. Clover along with Pandora and some of her more
loyal crewmen barely escape the explosion.
Being separated from Pandora and knowing others were
hunting for her, disturbed her greatly. When another airship
arrives at the island and the Captain, Rasa, offers her to join his
crew she gladly accepts. Zoe immediately likes Rasa who works
his crew hard and runs a tight ship. She works hard under him
and in return, Rasa tracks down the pirate Clover. They
finally catch up to Clover docked in a small town. Trying to
get Pandora back safely, she quietly approaches one of more
reasonable crewmen she knew when she was travelling with
Clover. When that does not go anywhere, she knocks him out and
proceeds to Clover's new ship. Zoe arrives at the ship just as
they are being attacked. She overcomes Clover's guards and
searches her ship for Pandora. When she finds her, she quickly
escapes to Rasa's ship and evade the fighting.
Reunited with Pandora, Zoe spends as much time with
Pandora when she isn't working on the ship. She learns of
Clover being more motherly and at Pandora's insistence, Zoe attempts
to mend relations with the pirate. They arrange a meeting in a
town to discuss if something can be worked out. When they
meet, Clover is conciliatory and agrees to be interviewed by Zoe as
to whether Pandora's comments about Clover were true and whether Zoe
feels she can trust Clover with Pandora. While discussing
arrangements, the one that was hunting Pandora, Kagato, finally
catches up to them and imprisons them on the island town.
Although trapped, with Pandora safe Zoe feels a
certain amount of comfort. Since her arrival on this planet,
she had not encountered a single decent man.
Most were conceited jerks and she would have nothing to do
with them. As her mind wandered, she came to the realization
that Clover was the closest in what she was looking for in a
partner. While stuck on the island, she confessed her feeling
to a shocked Clover.
With the combined effort from both crews, they
managed to escape the island. With both crews cooperating to
defeat Kagato, the evil dragon king, Zoe first took down Pandora's
father, who only wanted Pandora so he could control the
dragons. Through some manipulation from Clover, she
encountered Clover's husband. Surprised, especially when
Clover was sleeping around with other people, Zoe told her that it
did not change her feelings to which Clover finally accepted
her.
After a difficult yet victorious battle against Kagato,
Clover went back to confront her husband to force a divorce, however
he fled when the battle turned against him. For a while,
things were peaceful as they lived in town raising Pandora
together. Clover drops her pirate name and goes by her real
name, Rae-Lynn. After a year of peace, it ended when they
were confronted to do a job. The job ended poorly and Zoe
ended up in an alternate world. After sorting out the
confusion and mistaken identity, she tried to help them as their
world starts to fall apart. Unable to prevent the world from
ending, she sets out to save the Princess and a few chosen people at
the Queen's request. At the gap between the two worlds, the
mastermind reveals himself to be Rae-Lynn's husband.
Zoe sacrifices herself in order to allow the others to
escape. Rae-Lynn, not wanting to abandon her mate, stays as
well. As Rae-Lynn's husband taunts them, Zoe uses his
boastfulness and agrees be his plaything in exchange for
leaving. Once back in the real world, she promptly drives her
sword through his heart.
The crime committed, Zoe was taken by the Dragon
council and found guilty of murder. Through friends and
interested dragon parties, she was only sentenced to a life sentence
serving the dragons. As a slave to the dragons, she performed
many great feats. Defeating powerful creatures, rescuing
important people, Zoe became well known throughout the world.
With the help of Raine, one of the dragons compassionate to her
plight, Zoe gains the status of dragon which frees her from doing
every whim of the dragons. She marries Rae-Lynn in a rather
elaborate ceremony.
When Rae-Lynn, falls ill to a fatal psionic disease, Zoe
scrambles to find a cure. When her search proves fruitless,
she turns to Kagato for help. In exchange, Kagato demands
she serve him for 25 years. Once Rae-Lynn is cured, she
quietly she serves as a guardian for Kagato. In her free
time, she studies the dragon laws and telepathically
communicating to her wife. Having a chance to get to know
Kagato better, they get along on more friendly terms.
Zoe is well known for her accomplishments and a hero to
many. She is also contraversal and disliked by many, mostly
dragons, as she stretches and breaks laws for what she feels is
right. Using the many years studying ancient dragon dogma, perfect
memory, and friends on the dragon council, she avoids many problems
that got her where she is today. Zoe is the only dragon
not to control territory although she is entitled to it.
She spends her time split between her family, serving on the
dragon council, and as a high ranking officer in the dragon army.
She has two children with Rae-Lynn, twins Saul and Solra.
Zoe trained a girl named Uni, one of Kagato's adopted daughters.
She currently serves in the dragon army as well.
Cool, tough, and determined.
Zoe symbolizes all of these traits. Her greatest
asset is her street smarts. Although it doesn't help
her get out of messy situations, she can usually spot trouble ahead
of time. Although Zoe is a decent warrior, she is tough as
nails (even before she was a dragon). She can take a beating
and still kick someone's ass.
